Welcome Back Letter from Principal – Eastman School Year 2024-2025
Dear Eastman Families,
Welcome back to another exciting school year at Eastman! As we embark on the 2024-25 academic year, we are filled with enthusiasm and anticipation. Last year we celebrated a monumental milestone: our 100-year anniversary. Since 1923, Eastman has been a cornerstone of our community, pioneering bilingual education and setting a model for schools throughout LAUSD. We are proud of our rich history and eager to embrace the future with renewed energy and vision.
Our theme for this year is inspired by the beloved Care Bears, whose traits of kindness, harmony, and joy perfectly encapsulate the spirit we wish to foster at Eastman. Just like Cheer Bear, we aim to spread positivity and encouragement. Harmony Bear’s message of understanding and unity will guide our efforts to create an inclusive environment where every student feels valued. Funshine Bear’s enthusiasm for adventure will drive our commitment to making learning both exciting and engaging. Tenderheart Bear’s compassion and empathy remind us to always support and care for each other, while Love-A-Lot Bear and Laugh-A-Lot Bear encourage us to embrace love and laughter in all we do. Through Champion Bear’s bravery and Share Bear’s generosity, we hope to inspire our students to be leaders and to share their talents with the community.
This year marks the beginning of Year 1 in the next century of Eastman’s legacy. We are on the brink of a new transformation, and it’s a time of great opportunity and growth. As we journey through this new chapter, we are committed to continuing our tradition of excellence and innovation.
Our enrichment programs offer a wealth of opportunities for students to explore their interests and talents. From Student Council and Pep Team to the Movie Club and Theater, our afterschool clubs provide a vibrant array of activities that complement the academic experience. These programs are designed to foster leadership, creativity, and collaboration among our students.
As a proud 90/10 Dual Language School, Eastman remains dedicated to its pioneering role in bilingual education. Our approach not only supports academic success but also enriches our students' cultural and linguistic understanding, setting a precedent for others to follow.
